Michael Repper follows big summer plans

Responding to an audience member regarding his summer plans at the Northern Neck Orchestra’s (NNO) final concert of the past season, conductor and music director Michael Repper quipped, “go find a nice beach.”

Funny and understandable given the frantic travel, conducting, performing and teaching schedule Repper maintains during the fall-through spring concert season.

But don’t be expecting to find much sand between his toes, as the 34-year-old musician “takes off” a few warm months before leisurely diving into the fall and winter schedule. Instead, he finalized long-term detailed research on an early 20th century British composer whose music will be….
