Middlesex defeats Rappahannock, 3-0 for Region A volleyball championship

After dominating during the regular season, Middlesex claimed the Class 1 Region A championship Friday, beating Northern Neck District’s Rappahannock, 3-0.

The Lady Chargers went unbeaten during the regular season at 14-0 then swept King & Queen, 3-0, in a regional quarterfinal and Mathews, 3-0, in the semifinal to earn a shot at the Raiderettes, which went 10-2 during the regular season.

In Friday’s championship round, Middlesex defeated Rappahannock, 25-14, 25-17 and 25-21.

Middlesex traveled to Region B champion Riverheads for the Class 1 state semifinals….
