Three LHS harriers qualify for Class 1 state cross country meet

After dominating the competition through the regular season, Lancaster High School junior Hailey Smith won her third straight Class 1 Region A race on a hilly, wet trail at Eastern State Hospital in Williamsburg Thursday, April 15.

Smith finished the 3.1-mile race over two minutes ahead of the runner-up to qualify for the state meet tomorrow, April 23, at Green Hill Park in Salem.

Smith is the only state qualifier from the LHS girls team. Michael Foulkes and Marshall Lee will represent Lancaster in the state boys meet.
