Museum announces ‘2021 No Show Opening Gala’

Donations to the museum’s No Show Gala will help continue the summertime Friday morning children’s activities, where attendees learn about the Steamboat Era and make a steamboat to take home.

The Steamboat Era Museum board of directors invites the community to the “2021 No Show Opening Gala.”

“The date of the event is whenever—it will be held wherever you are, and the attire is whatever you want,” said executive director Steve Humphrey. “Tickets cost whatever you would have spent on gala tickets, attire, silent auction items, had this been an actual event!

“We want our supporters to enjoy this event, so we are asking you not to pay for fancy dresses and tuxedo rentals. The gala will be one less event, virtual or in-person, you need put on your busy calendar,” continued Humphrey. “It gives ‘attendees’ an opportunity to support the museum knowing their entire donation will help….
