It did not take long for Dr. Jim Melisi to realize there would need to be a little extra time built into his patient schedule in his Kilmarnock office. That is because it became clear that both patient and surgeon would need time to talk about “the Neck,” aka the Northern Neck, before patients got around to talking about their necks.
A board-certified neurosurgeon with 30 years of experience and a special interest in surgical matters of the spine and brain, Dr. Melisi recently began offering office hours at 95 Harris Road, Building 6 Suite A, adjacent to the campus of Rappahannock General Hospital in Kilmarnock.
“My wife Debra and I have been fortunate enough to own a home in Heathsville since 1994 and feel we have become part of the culture and community of the Northern Neck,” said Dr. Melisi. “Our children, Christopher and Nina, grew up playing on the shores of the Potomac River and now their families, with our three grandchildren, are benefitting from that unique opportunity.
