New school board chairman adds informal sessions

KILMARNOCK—The Lancaster school board on January 9 elected District 2 member Audrey Thomasson chairman and District 5 member Carolyn Young vice chairman.

Thomasson soon after introduced plans for a “chairman’s night” to the public. Chairman’s night will be held at 5:30 p.m. each third Tuesday beginning February 20 at the LCPS Annex, 235 School Street, Kilmarnock.

This public forum will be an opportunity for citizens to express their concerns to the chairman and members of the school board and the superintendent. The chairman’s night meetings are intended for informal discussion and not action by the board.

Citizens may use this time to get answers to questions they may have regarding school policy and operations as well as progress on new school facilities, said Thomasson…
