Nonsuit filed in case against Lancaster school board chairman

LANCASTER—A motion to nonsuit was filed and granted in the case of The Concerned Citizens of Lancaster (TCCL) versus Lancaster school board chairman Audrey Thomasson on Friday, May 31.

The motion, filed during Lancaster County Circuit Court proceedings by special prosecutor Matthew Kite, Commonwealth’s Attorney for King William County, effectively dismissed the case against Thomasson due to a lack of clear and convincing evidence that Thomasson is guilty of any crime that could result in her removal from office under Virginia law.

The Hon. R. Michael McKenney, who presided over the case, accepted the prosecution’s motion to nonsuit. Thomasson’s attorney, Bradford King, said during the hearing he had no objections…
