HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, May 17, with the Hon. R. Michael McKenney presiding.
In the case of Elijah W. McKinley of Heathsville, charged with failure to appear on a felony offense, a bond hearing was continued to July 12.
Derrick L. Brown of Heathsville, pleaded guilty to felony perjury and misdemeanor false report/summon to law enforcement. Sentencing will be July 5.
In the case of George A Canada of Heathsville, charged with grand larceny for auto theft, a status hearing was set for November 22.
In the case of Davon W. Gaines of Merry Point, charged with three felony counts of malicious wounding, use of a firearm while committing a felony, malicious shooting at or in an occupied building, malicious shooting at a vehicle, and destruction of property valued at over $1,000 with intent, an arraignment was continued to June 14 to advise about attorney arrangements.
In the case of James A. Johnson of Lottsburg, charged with two counts of felony distribution/sell for profit of a Schedule I/II substance, a status hearing to advise about attorney arrangements was set for June 14.
In the case of Michael S. Kappel of Heathsville, charged with two felony counts of obtaining over $1,000 under false pretenses, grand larceny of over $1,000, and failure to perform promise for construction in return for advance pay of over $1,000, a trial was continued to June 14….
