Northumberland County moves forward with new computer aided-dispatch

HEATHSVILLE—In a special called meeting on Tuesday, September 28, the Northumberland board of supervisors authorized Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp to enter into a service agreement with Central Square Technologies for a new computer-aided dispatch system.

The board approved the measure in a 5-0 vote with Ronald Jett, Richard Haynie, Thomas Tomlin, James Brann and James Long all in favor. The special meeting was necessary because a contract needed to be signed by October 1 to keep the discounts from the current quote.

According to Sheriff Beauchamp, the total cost of the contract is $261,411.45, with annual costs of $37,832.40 for maintenance and $5,840 for subscription fees for a total cost of….
