Northumberland’s new teachers ready to ‘log on’

With 16 new teachers, Northumberland students will see many new faces when they begin their new school year, although mostly virtually, on September 8.

Like all teachers in the division, new teachers have been focused on learning skills that will allow both them and their students to thrive in an online environment since they began work on August 17. Northumberland superintendent Holly Wargo said this year’s focus would be on four goals: “school and campus safety during the pandemic; making virtual learning meaningful by maintaining integrity of instruction; an intentional emphasis on virtual attendance, participation and engagement; and supporting families throughout the school year by staying connected.”
