Old Northumberland Jail to reopen for 2023 farmers market

The Northumberland County Historical Society recently announced it will reopen the Old Northumberland Jail for tours in conjunction with the 2023 Heathsville Farmers Markets.

Sponsored by Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, the Heathsville Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on third Saturdays, April through October, on the tavern grounds at 73 Monument Place in Heathsville.

Starting on April 15, this will be the first time the jail has been open to the public since the start of the pandemic….
