Polar Bear Plunge surpasses $33,000 goal

Twenty-five brave souls took on the chilly waters of Indian Creek on Saturday, January 28, “freezin’ for a reason.”

The 2023 Polar Bear Plunge surpassed the goal of $33,000 and will help give over 40 deserving children the opportunity to attend overnight camp this summer at APYC/ YMCA Camp Kekoka, 1083 Boys Camp Road, Kilmarnock.

The Polar Bear Plunge is an annual major fundraiser for the camp, supporting the YMCA’s mission that everyone can participate in YMCA programs regardless of their financial situation.

This was the first plunge event for resident camp executive director Ana Mae Morrow, who was thrilled to have such great community support….
