Bruton JV edges Lancaster, 64-61, to tarnish previous undefeated record

Bruton spoiled Lancaster’s unblemished record last Monday when the Class 2 Williamsburg-based school edged the Red Devils, 64-61, in a junior varsity game.

LHS is now 13-1 with its final game of the season tomorrow, February 10, at Essex.

“It was a good loss for us,” said LHS coach Eddie Hall. “It was the best game we’ve played all season. You need a good, close game like that. It builds character and showed us we had a lot of heart to come back when we’re down by 14 or 15 points.”

The Devils led by three, 25-22, after a close first half then gave up a 24-13 run to Bruton in the third and trailed by as much as 14 points before putting up 16 unanswered points and tying the contest at 61-61….
