The local faith community is organizing a prayer vigil for Lancaster County superintendent of schools Dan Russell from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 6, at Town Centre Park, 150 North Main Street, Kilmarnock. Prayer will begin at 5:30 p.m.
During spring break, Russell suffered a massive stroke and remains hospitalized in West Virginia.
Organizers urge those who believe in the power of prayer to unite and pray for his recovery, for his family and for the school division. All are welcome.
A love offering will be collected to help pay for travel expenses.
