Proposed $12.6 million capital plan for 2023 forwarded to supervisors

LANCASTER—Following a public hearing without objections, the Lancaster planning commission on Thursday, March 17, recommended $12,613,329 in capital expenditures for fiscal year 2023.

The proposed capital improvement budget now goes to the board of supervisors for approval. The commission voted 5-0 to recommend the budget. Steven Sorensen, David Chupp, Ty Brent, Tara Booth and Glendon Pinn voted in favor. Tom Richardson and Latoy Davenport were absent.

As proposed, the majority of next year’s capital budget, some 63%, represents $8 million slated for the design phase of the new middle/high school project….
