Before the 2019 General Assembly session officially began yesterday, January 9, District 99 Del. Margaret Ransone pre-filed several pieces of legislation including bills to amend Irvington’s town charter and to designate Northern Neck Ginger Ale as the official soft drink of the Commonwealth.
Del. Ransone pre-filed House Bill 1895 to update Irvington’s town charter and change the date of town elections for mayor and council members from every two years on the second Tuesday in June to every four years on the second Tuesday of May. The bill also would update the town charter to only allow the mayor to vote in the case of a tie.
Del. Ransone also pre-filed House Bill 1875, to designate Northern Neck Ginger Ale as the official soft drink of the Commonwealth. Northern Neck Ginger Ale was originally produced during the 1920s in Montross and is still sold …
