The Northern Neck District’s Rappahannock High School will advance to the semifinals of the Class 1 state volleyball tournament this week. Lancaster was eliminated from the title hunt in a quarterfinal match-up.
The Raiderettes, who won both the district and Region A championships, got by Region B runner-up Altavista, 3-2, in a quarterfinal game November 13, while Region B champ Riverheads swept Lancaster, 3-0, November 12.
It was Lancaster’s first state tournament appearance in 14 years….
