After suffering through a shutout by Rappahannock on Tuesday, April 29, Lancaster’s softball team gave the Raiders a run before a home crowd at Dream Fields on Thursday, May 1. Lancaster relinquished a one-run lead in the top of the fifth and gave up six runs to the Raiders in their final three at bats to fall, 8-3.
The Red Devils got on the board in the bottom of the first for a 3-0 lead when Ayla Saunders and Addie George both reached base on errors and Elizabeth Keyser recorded the RBI on a fielder’s choice grounder to second that scored Saunders. Braelyn Johnson drew a two-out walk to set up a two-run double by Kelsie Cox, who smacked a line drive to centerfield.
