Senior third baseman Meredith Slaw (13) hit a solo home run to lift Rappahannock High School over Windsor, 1-0, last Friday in the Region A softball tournament championship.
The Raiderettes advanced to the regional tourney final with a 6-0 semifinal win over Northumberland last Wednesday behind pitcher Rilee Baughan’s one-hit shutout.
Taylor Basye had the only hit for NHS, while Baughan and Slaw hit a home run each for RHS.
Both Rappahannock and Windsor advanced to this week’s state Class 1 tournament with the regional champion Raiderettes earning a home berth against Rappahannock County. The semifinals and finals will be held June 8-9 at Radford University.
