RCA presents $9,000 in grants to Northumberland music programs

The Rappahannock Concert Association (RCA) has a two-part mission: providing quality live performances in the community and supporting and funding music education.

RCA has been presenting concerts on the Northern Neck for the past 39 years, reported publicity chairman Nellie Landrum. The first concert of the 40th season will be the Peter and Will Anderson Trio at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, September 23, at the Northumberland County School Complex, 201 Academic Lane, Claraville.

Tickets are $25. To purchase tickets for this show or the six-concert season, go to rappahannockconcerts.org, or pay at the door. Students are free.

As part of RCA’s mission to support music education, it annually awards grants to area music teachers to help with special projects. Last year’s RCA grants included donations to eight local music programs to….
