Reading the Greens, a golf tournament to benefit the Lancaster Community Library, was held Tuesday, October 15, at the Golden Eagle Golf Course.
Eighteen teams signed up for three flights, reported library director Alice Cooper. Winners included, ladies’ flight, Muffin Fitzpatrick, Ellie Davis, Molly Gatchell and Kathy Davidson; men’s first flight, Scott Warren, Champe Holman, Tommy Winfree and Winn Winfree; and men’s second flight, Wingo Knowles, John Mecke, Pete Conway and Ryan Kent.
Golfers enjoyed a box lunch catered by the Golden Eagle Grill. Car Wash Cafe and Old Farm Truck offered snacks on the course. Afterwards, hot dogs and light refreshments were provided at the clubhouse.
The event raised over $10,000 for the library, which must raise two-thirds of its operating budget from fundraising, said Cooper.
