Coming off a loss to Rappahannock in the Northern Neck District tournament semifinals last week, the Lancaster Red Devils rallied for a 27-point victory over Charles City High to advance in postseason play.

Lancaster blew open a two-point halftime lead with a 23-4 run in the third and went on to beat the Panthers, 73-46, in the first round of the Region 1A boys basketball tournament. The win earned the Devils a shot at third seeded Franklin in the quarterfinals. Franklin had a first-round bye.

Lancaster was the region’s sixth seed and finished third in the district during the regular season at 6-4, and 13-6 overall.
