It’s been 10 months since Lancaster and Westmoreland last met on the basketball court. But the memory, and sting, of what happened in that last meeting was still fresh in the minds of the Red Devils last week.
This time the Eagles weren’t about to come into the Devils’ house and win. Lancaster made that clear early in the varsity Northern Neck District opener Tuesday, January 10, going on a 20-4 first-quarter run en route to a 66-38 lashing.
The Devils picked up a second district win, 63-24, over Colonial Beach Friday, January 13, and beat Altavista, 81-66, in a showcase at Cumberland Saturday, January 14, to improve its unbeaten record to 11-0.
