The California Cuties

The California Cuties was the second barnstorming professional softball team to visit Kilmarnock courtesy of the Texacos.

Based in Compton, Calif., the team was born just after World War II in 1946 by Trino Palacios. Billed as the world’s funniest softball team, they lived up to their name, all dressed as women. Although they wore dresses, they were top-notch softballers, and like The King & His Court, the first four innings of the game were serious.
