
For the second time in three months, Reece Rhodes has made his mark on a national stage.
The Lancaster High School senior track and field star finished among the top 10 in the shot put at the New Balance Nationals in Philadelphia on June 18. His put of 59’6.25” was good enough to earn him an eighth-place finish overall among about 40 athletes in the event.
The New Balance Nationals was one of three outdoor national events held last weekend and afforded Rhodes some looks from college scouts.
“The competition was really, really good,” said Rhodes. “I barely made the finals [round] by like two inches.”
