Ring ceremony recognizes 1996 state basketball champions.
Northumberland High School on Friday, December 10, presented rings to players, coaches and managers of the 1996 state championship boys basketball team. The ring ceremony was held prior to the start of the NHS versus Mathews boys basketball game. Receiving rings were the head coach of the ’96 team Jimmy Jett, assistants Darrell Long and Mike Stevenson, players Tony Booth, Terrell Diggs, Anthony Fallin, Terry Gordon, Marcel Jones, James Keeve, Michael Saunders, Antwan Taylor, Troy Taylor, Dennis Webb and managers Monai Jones and Jason Newsome. Also honored were the late Calvin Redmond and Donn Belfield. Superintendent Dr. Holly Wargo and former NHS principal Dale Whittler participated in the ceremony.
