Lancaster, which finished as a Class 1 state semifinalist in boys basketball, had one player honored with a Class 1 all-state first-team selection. Virginia High School League released the state’s honor squad on March 24.
Lancaster junior guard Jamarcus Russell, who averaged 22.7 points per game this season, filled one of the eight first-team spots.
Northumberland junior Tyreek Lundy, the Northern Neck District and Region 1A player of the year, was also named to the all-state first team.
From the Tidewater District, Middlesex had an all-state second team selection in senior JaQuan Griffin.
George Wythe senior forward Reed Kirtner is the Class 1 player of the year and Tony Dunford, who led the Maroons to a second state championship, was named……
