School board office to move to Heathsville

HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland board of supervisors, at a special called meeting on Tuesday, August 18, approved the relocation of the county school board office to the former EVB Bank building in Heathsville. 

“Many of you know the Lottsburg school board office has served us well over the years but has deteriorated over time,” school superintendent Holly Wargo noted in a related statement to the school community. “The recent tropical storm caused severe flooding which left the tiles on the floor loose and crumbling. We continue to have numerous leaks throughout the main hall and offices.

“For the safety of our school board office employees and for our maintenance and facilities team, who are responsible for maintaining it, we felt the move was necessary…
