Sheriff’s Report 02-02-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Denton Scott Behrensen, 31, of Reedville was charged January 25 with committing perjury by knowingly giving testimony under oath as to any material matter, disorderly conduct in a public building with intent to cause public inconvenience and appearing intoxicated in public.

Tyler Resean Tomlin, 27, of Kilmarnock, was charged January 26 with strangulation, and assault and battery of a family member.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster woman, 51, was charged January 24 with violating a provision of a protective order.

A Petersburg man, 26, was charged January 28 with appearing intoxicated in public.

A Lancaster man, 65, was charged January 29 with trespassing after being forbidden to do so by signs posted by an authorized individual.

Activity report

January 23: Staff responded to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for the report of a wanted person.

January 24: Staff responded to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another over social media, to the 100 block of Overlook Court for a domestic disturbance, to the 8200 block of Mary Ball Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 100 block of Jones Drive to check the welfare of a resident, to the 100 block of Entertainment Drive for the report of a disorderly person, and to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian.

January 25: Staff responded to the 100 block of Fox Tail South to check the welfare of a resident, to the 400 block of Mosquito Point Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 100 block of Prentice Creek Road to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Sandy Lane for a juvenile behavior issue, and to the 5400 block of Mary Ball Road a fight in progress.

January 26: Staff responded to a walk-in report of threats made over a telephone voice message, and to the 1000 block of Beanes Road for a domestic disturbance.

January 27: Staff responded to the 200 block of Greenwood Court for a domestic assault, to the 4300 block of Irvington Road for threats made to harm/kill another, to the 100 block of Yorkshire Street for a fight in progress, and to Rappahannock Drive for an unrestrained six-year-old.

January 28: Staff responded to the 500 block of Goodluck Road for a verbal disagreement, to Regina Road for a suspicious vehicle stopped in the roadway, to the 100 block of Holly Haven Road to check the welfare of a resident, to Mary Ball and Old Orchard roads for a reckless driver, and to the 100 block of Buzzards Neck Road for a domestic disturbance.

January 29: Staff responded to the 18700 block of Mary Ball Road for a trespasser, and to the 18700 block of Mary Ball Road for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Staff also conducted 38 traffic stops, issued 37 summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled 10 calls for traffic control, investigated eight building alarms, logged three inmate transports, received 13 E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster and Kilmarnock volunteer fire departments responded to a brush fire on Cottage Cove Way.
