Sheriff’s Report 02-12-26

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Carrie Michelle Crowell, 31, of White Stone was charged February 3 grand larceny.

Cleveland Maurice Rice, 54, of Lancaster was charged February 4 with strangulation or suffocation resulting in wounding or bodily injury, and assault and battery (misdemeanor).

Daishuane Jermiaha Smith, 23, of Lancaster was charged February 7 with assault and battery upon a person protected by a Family Protective Order, and assault and battery against a family or household member (misdemeanor).

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 35, was charged February 4 with trespassing.

A White Stone woman, 31, was charged February 5 with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Activity report

February 2: Staff responded to the 4000 block of Mary Ball Road for an adult welfare check.

February 3: Staff responded to the 11000 block of Mary Ball Road for an assault, to Mary Ball Road and Clover Lane for a motor vehicle pursuit, and to the 1000 block of Regina Road for a domestic assault.

February 4: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Harris roads for a traffic road hazard, to Christ Church and Weems roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 1200 block of Ocran Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Gordon Drive for a civil complaint, and to the 2000 block of Ocran Road for a suspicious vehicle.

February 5: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Pinckardsville roads for a multiple-vehicle traffic crash, to Goodluck Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a disabled vehicle, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a reckless driver, and to the 100 block of Wishing Well Lane for a verbal dispute.

February 6: Staff responded to the 8000 Block of Mary Ball Road for larceny, to the 8000 block of Oak Hill Road for suspicious activity, and to Mary Ball and Harris roads for a motor vehicle pursuit.

February 7: Staff responded to the 100 Block of Peirces Road for a domestic disturbance, to Riverwood Drive for a downed tree, to Devils Bottom Road for a downed tree, and to the 400 block of Quarters Cove Drive for a downed tree.

February 8: Staff responded to the 100 Block of Marina Road for a civil complaint.

Staff also conducted 21 traffic stops, issued 16 summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled two request for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged six inmate transports, received five E911 hang up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire Calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash at Bluff Point and Jarvis roads, a fuel spill on North Main Street, a traffic crash at Shiloh School and Apple Grove roads and with Upper Lancaster VFD to a traffic crash at Mary Ball and Pinckardsville roads.
