Sheriff’s Report 04-29-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against two individuals.

Felony

Nicholas Lamont Turner, 27, of Heathsville was charged April 23 with distribution of a Schedule I or II narcotic, second offense, and destruction of property valued at more than $1,000.

Misdemeanor

A Lynchburg man, 57, was charged April 22 with a probation violation on a felony offense.

Activity report

April 19: Staff responded to the 100 block of Wiggins Avenue to check the welfare of a juvenile female after being alerted by a family member.

April 20: Staff responded to the 300 block of Chesapeake Drive for possible child neglect.

April 21: Staff responded to Johns Neck and Indiantown Roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to Beanes Road for a vehicle in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, and to the 100 block of Reynolds Landing for gunshots.

April 22: Staff responded to the 100 block of Rocky Neck Road for a civil issue, to the 300 block of Peach Tree Lane for a noise violation from barking dogs, to the 300 block of Buzzards Neck Road for gunshots, to the 5000 block of Windmill Point Road for a civil issue involving contracted work, and to the 1500 block of Weems Road for a property line dispute.

April 23: Staff responded to the 100 block of Beach Road for a possible prowler, to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road for a domestic dispute, to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road for gunshots in the evening hours, and to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road for a domestic assault.

April 24: Staff responded to the 200 block of Twin Branch Road for a domestic assault.

April 25: Staff responded to the 200 block of Twin Branch Road for felonious assaults with serious injuries, to the 2200 block of River Road for a person with mental issues, to the 100 block of Hazzard Lane for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 100 block of Reynolds Farm Road for a verbal dispute.

Staff also conducted 19 traffic stops, issued 13 summonses, assisted three motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled four calls for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, logged four inmate transports, received 20 E911 hang-up calls and fielded four requests for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock and White Stone volunteer fire departments responded to a structure fire on James Lane.

The White Stone VFD also responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Whisk Drive.

The Kilmarnock VFD also responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Raleigh Drive.
