Sheriff’s Report 05-18-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against three individuals.

Felonies

Donovan Ramon Gregory, 24, of White Stone was charged May 11 with maliciously stabbing, cutting, or wounding a person with intent to maim, disfigure, disable or kill.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 55, was charged May 8 with violating a provision of a family abuse emergency protective order, and going upon or remaining upon a specified land, building or premises after having been forbidden to do so by a sign posted by an authorized individual.

A Lancaster woman, 32, was charged May 14 with assault and battery of a family or household member.

Activity Report

May 8: Staff responded to the 6800 block of Windmill Point Road for suspicious activity, to the 800 block of Kamps Mill Road for larceny of a trailer tire and wheel from a U-Haul rental trailer, to the Lancaster area of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to a walk-in report of trespassing and violation of a protective order that occurred at the 300 block of Ivey Creek Road, and to the 800 block of Mosquito Point Road for credit theft and fraud.

May 9: Staff responded to the 100 block of Moccasin Trail for a verbal disagreement.

May 10: Staff responded to the 100 block of Doggett Lane for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Morattico Road to check the welfare of a juvenile, to Pinckardsville Road for debris in the roadway, to the 3200 block of White Chapel Road for an unauthorized use of a vehicle, to the 2600 block of Morattico Road for the report of threats to harm another, to a walk-in report of child custody issues, and to the 200 block of School Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with suspicious activity.

May 11: Staff responded to the 400 block of Wilson Lane for a malicious wounding, to the 400 block of East Church Street to assist KPD with suspicious activity with weapons involved, to the 100 block of Woodys Lane for larceny of a 32 caliber handgun, to the 400 block of Wilson Lane for a trespasser, to the 12000 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 3100 block of Lara Road for vandalism of a lawn from a vehicle.

May 12: Staff responded to the 900 block of Irvington Road for a bicyclist injured from a fall on the public highway, to the 100 block of Morattico Road for a trespasser, to the 100 block of Taylors Creek Road for a wanted person, to the 100 block of Western Branch Road for a fight in progress and vandalism, to the 3100 block of White Chapel Road for threats made to harm another, to the 100 block of Ridge Road to assist Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office with an accident investigation, to the 100 block of Reynolds Farm Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by another sheriff’s office.

May 13: Staff responded to the 100 block of Entertainment Drive for threats made to harm another, to the 100 block of Clover Lane for juveniles in the roadway operating a four-wheeler, to the 1300 block of Irvington Road for the report of a two-vehicle traffic crash and to the 1300 block of Harris Road to assist KPD with a domestic disturbance.

May 14: Staff responded to the 2400 block of Merry Point Road for a noise violation from loud music in the early morning hours, to Devils Bottom Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 3100 block of White Chapel Road for extortion, to the 4300 block of Windmill Point Road for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol, to the 800 block of Hunton Lane to assist Chesterfield Police Department with a larceny investigation, to the 500 block of Paynes Creek Road for threats made to harm another, to the 200 block of Kathy Drive for suspicious activity, and to the 100 block of Thomas Landing Road for trespassing and assault.

Staff also conducted 18 traffic stops, issued 13 summonses, assisted four motorists, handled 12 calls for traffic control, investigated six building alarms, logged three inmate transports, received 41 E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a person in distress at Hughlett Point Natural Area Preserve and separate traffic crashes on Tower Point Lane, Irvington Road, Taylors Creek and Lumberlost roads.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash at Mary Ball and River roads, and a vehicle fire on Old Orchard Drive.
