Sheriffs’ Report 05-20-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against individuals.

Felony

Stephen Walter Burrell, 40, of Irvington was charged May 13 with threats to burn/bomb a place of assembly, building or structure, and two counts of assault.

Misdemeanors

A White Stone man, 34, was charged May 10 with probation violation on a misdemeanor offense.

A Lancaster woman, 53, was charged May 15 with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving after forfeiture of driver’s license, reckless driving, improper turn, failure to submit to a breath or blood test after being arrested for driving under the influence and failure to maintain proper lane.

Activity report

May 10: Staff responded to the 100 block of Churchfields Lane to check the welfare of a resident, to the 1300 block of Irvington Road for the report of debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 400 block of Fleets Bay Road for a trespasser, to the 100 block of Twin Branch Road for larceny of a Smith & Wesson Model 48 handgun and vehicle keys, and to the 5300 block of Mary Ball Road for an assault.

May 11: Staff responded to the 900 block of Ocran Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 100 block of Steamboat Road for vandalism of a vehicle, to the 1200 block of Goodluck Road for a person with an altered mental status, to a walk-in report of money obtained by false pretenses, to Mary Ball and Courthouse roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 200 block of Pond Park Road for child custody issues.

May 12: Staff responded to the 300 block of Rappahannock Drive for funds obtained by false pretense, to the 500 block of North Main Street for a suspicious person, to the 100 block of West Point Road for damaged property from a gunshot, to the 100 block of Bald Eagle Point Road to check the welfare of a possible suicidal person after being alerted by Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office, to the 600 block of Gaskins Road for suspicious activity, and to the 100 block of Paynes Shop Road to assist Hanover County in the location of two wanted people.

May 13: Staff responded to the 2800 block of White Chapel Road for a possible fraud, to the 1600 block of Ottoman Ferry Road for a sudden death, and to Johns Neck Road and Carter Cove Drive for a person riding a dirt bike on the highway without a helmet.

May 14: Staff responded to the 2400 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic assault, to the 300 block of Paynes Creek Road to assist with a boat in distress, to the 100 block of Green Road for suspicious activity, to Alfonzo and Lara roads for the report of two motorcycles driving recklessly, and to the 200 block of School Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a suspicious person.

May 15: Staff responded to the 2900 block of Lara Road for a domestic assault, to the 100 block of Buzzards Neck Road to make a death notification of a relative, to Irvington and Old Mill Cove roads for the smell of smoke and possible fire, to Mary Ball Road in White Stone for reckless drivers, to the 200 block of Saltwater Drive for go-karts on the roadway, and to the 500 block of Southport Lane to assist KPD with a domestic assault.

May 16: Staff responded to the 1400 block of Windmill Point Road to assist emergency medical services with an overdose of narcotics, to larceny of a business sign from the 500 block of Slabtown Road, to the 100 block of Leetown Road for a trespasser, and to the 100 block of Shelton Drive for suspicious activity.

Staff also conducted 10 traffic stops, issued nine summonses, assisted two motorists, handled four calls for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged five inmate transports, received 16 E911 hang-up calls, fielded two requests for animal control service and issued a related summons.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to the smell of smoke on Norwood Street, a fire/smoke alarm on King Carter Drive and with White Stone VFD to a woods fire on Windmill Point Road.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash at Mary Ball and Courthouse roads.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Bryan Allen Pittman, 34, no address given, was charged May 10 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with object sex penetration, aggravated sexual battery of a child under the age of 13, and sodomy. He was arrested by the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office.

Ashley Nicole Pendleton, 35, of Fredericksburg was charged May 12 with grand larceny of a motor vehicle. This charge was from Spotsylvania County. She was also charged with a capias/attachment of the body from Northumberland County for violating her pre-trial services by failing to report for intake.

Oemar Antonio Davenport, 31, of Heathsville was charged May 12 with felony threatening bodily harm in writing.

William E. Sanford, 64, of Heathsville was charged May 15 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for an original charge on driving under the influence of alcohol, third/subsequent time.

Misdemeanors

A Burgess man, 37, was charged May 12 with a capias/attachment of the body issued from the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear after signing a form to do so.

A Reedville man, 35, was charged May 13 with a capias to Show Cause issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for violation of pre-trial conditions.
