Sheriff’s Report  06-15-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported felony charges against one individual.

Troy Adam Walker, 58, of Heathsville was charged June 8 with five counts of failure to register, reregister, or verify registration information, or knowingly provide false information to the Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry after being convicted of a Tier III offense.

Activity report

June 5: Staff responded to the 200 block of Flats Lane for a stolen forklift, and to the 200 block of Windjammer Lane for a disorderly and intoxicated person.

June 6: Staff responded to an assault in the 300 block of Clubhouse Drive, to the 17000 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash with injuries, to the 200 block of Red Fox Lane for trespassers, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway, to the 400 block of White Hall Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 11100 block of Mary Ball Road for a stolen wallet, and to the 1400 block of Ocran Road for a noise violation from a vehicle in the late evening hours.

June 7: Staff responded to the 100 block of Harris Road for a person with an altered mental status, to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with an intoxicated person, and to the 2700 block of Weems Road for a domestic disturbance.

June 8: Staff responded to Windmill Point Road for a reckless driver, to the 2100 block of White Chapel Road to assist Virginia State Police with a wanted person, and to Mary Ball and Harris Roads for a suspicious person.

June 9: Staff responded to the 300 block of Fishermans Bend Road for an abandoned vehicle blocking a private driveway, to the 2600 block of White Chapel Road for a possible suicidal person, to the Norris Bridge for a bicyclist, to the 7800 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to a walk-in report of the larceny of U.S. currency that occurred at the 400 block of King Carter Drive, to the 5400 block of Mary Ball Road for a minor vehicle crash on private property, and to the 2800 block of Crawfords Corner Road for gunshots in the late evening hours.

June 10: Staff responded to the 100 block of Greenwood Court for vandalism of a vehicle window glass, to the 600 block of Kamps Mill Road for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Norwood Street for an assault, to Norris Bridge for debris in the roadway, to the 10800 block of Mary Ball Road for a trespasser, to the Norris Bridge for a construction bag with materials inside causing a traffic hazard, and to the 400 block of Buzzards Neck Road for a minor two-vehicle traffic crash.

June 11: Staff responded to the 400 block of King Carter Drive for larceny of U.S. currency from a purse, to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Greenwood Court for the broken door glass on a passenger vehicle, to the Norris Bridge for a gas can in the roadway, to the 100 block of Turner Lane for threats made to harm another, to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way to assist KPD with an attempt to receive funds by false pretense, and to the 1200 block of Goodluck Road for suspicious activity.

Staff also conducted 24 traffic stops, issued nine summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled two calls for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, received 29 E911 hang up calls, and fielded six calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Rappahannock Drive and with Kilmarnock VFD to a fire/smoke alarm on King Carter Drive.

Kilmarnock VFD also responded to separate traffic crashes on Mary Ball Road and Jessie duPont Memorial Highway, a fire/smoke alarm on Martin Place and a request to assist Northumberland departments with a fire/smoke alarm on Hacksneck Road.
