Sheriff’s Report 07-30-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Telece Darnell Coleman, 37, of White Stone was charged July 24 with four counts of distribution of a Schedule I or II narcotic, all being a second offense, and two counts of probation violation on a felony offense.

Phillip Ethan Dean, 40, of White Stone was charged (no date given) with two counts of second degree murder and two counts of distribution of a Schedule I or II narcotic (heroin), third offense.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 28, was charged July 20 with destruction of property under $1,000 and petit larceny. On July 21, he was charged with contempt of court: disobeying process, judgement.

A Kilmarnock man, 38, was charged July 21 with substituting a sample used for drug/alcohol screening tests.

A Lancaster man, 35, was charged July 26 with assault and battery of a family member, destruction of property valued under $1,000 and petit larceny.

Activity report

July 20: Staff responded to the 100 block of Harris Road for an accidental gunshot wound that occurred at the 100 block of Joyful Way, to the 100 block of Whisk Drive for a person with an altered mental status, to the 600 block of Cedar Pointe Road for a person with an altered mental status, and to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a domestic disturbance.

July 21: Staff responded to the 100 block of Greentown Road for a trespasser, to the 300 block of Nuttsville Road for a domestic assault involving drugs, to the 600 block of Cedar Pointe Road for a domestic assault, to the 300 block of Weems Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 400 block of Kinlock Avenue to assist KPD with a violation of a protective order, to the 500 block of North Main Street for a fight in progress involving five people, to the 100 block of Cherry Point Road for a suicidal person, to the 400 block of Campbell Road for larceny of a welding machine, and to Mary Ball and Rappahannock Landing roads for the report of a downed power line.

July 22: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Kamps Mill Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 300 block of Devils Bottom Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 6600 block of Morattico Road for a trespasser.

July 23: Staff responded to the 2000 block of River Road to check the welfare of the residents after being alerted to do so by a relative.

July 24: Staff responded to the area between Lancaster and Kilmarnock on Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to the 300 block of Gaskins Road for a civil issue involving a protective order, to the area between Kilmarnock and White Stone on Mary Ball for a driver on the wrong side of the four lane, to the 3900 block of Irvington Road for suspicious persons, to Peake Road for a domestic disturbance, and to White Stone for failing to stop for law enforcement.

July 25: Staff responded to Irvington and Steamboat roads for a vehicle stopped in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to Monaskon Road for a tree down in the roadway, to North Main Street for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to Merry Point and Buzzards Neck Road for a disturbance involving a crowd, to the 100 block of Jones Drive for a possible overdose of narcotics resulting in the death of two people, to a walk-in report of a domestic assault, and destruction of property and larceny that occurred at the 500 block of Paynes Creek Road.

July 26: Staff responded to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a large crowd and the sound of gunshots, to a single-vehicle traffic crash near River and Nuttsville roads, to Shiloh School Road to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop involving an intoxicated driver, to Devils Bottom Road for an abandoned vehicle in the roadway, to the 200 block of Long Creek Lane for a person with an altered mental status, and to the 200 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with the report of a home invasion involving long guns/firearms and assault.

Staff also conducted seven traffic stops, issued three summonses, assisted two motorists, handled a call for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged three inmate transports, and received 27 E911 hang-up calls.

Fire calls

The White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Irvington Road and to downed power lines on the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a brush fire on Mary Ball Road and to a lift assistance request on Lara Ridge Road.

The Kilmarnock VFD responded to traffic crashes on Mary Ball Road and on Devils Bottom Road, the smell of propane on North Main Street and a fire/smoke alarm on South Main Street.

EMS calls

For July 19-25, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 40 calls, including 25 medical emergencies, seven injuries, two traffic accidents and six other calls.
