Sheriff’s Report 09-09-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felony

Eric Keith Marlow, 31, of Lancaster was charged August 31 with three counts of threatening to burn/bomb a dwelling house and threaten in writing, to include electronic transmitted communication, to kill or do bodily harm to a person.

Misdemeanors

A Lottsburg man, 44, was charged August 30 with violating a protective order.

A Lancaster man, 46, was charged September 4 with driving while under the influence of alcohol, second offense within 10 years, and refusal to submit to a blood or breath test after having been arrested for DWI.

A Weems woman, 31, was charged September 5 with trespassing after having been forbidden to do so.

Activity report

August 30: Staff responded to the 4300 block of Windmill Point Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash; to the 10000 block of River Road for threats made to harm another; and to the 9900 block of Mary Ball road for a reckless driver.

August 31: Staff responded to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for a suspicious vehicle, to an identity fraud that occurred at the 20800 block of Mary Ball Road, to the 1000 block of Laurel Point Road for obtaining money by false pretense, to the 8000 block of River Road for a verbal dispute, to the 2000 block of Beanes Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 3200 block of Crawfords Corner Road for the unauthorized use of a vehicle.

September 1: Staff responded to the 4900 block of Morattico Road for a property dispute, to the 800 block of Levelgreen Road for money obtained by false pretense, and to numerous reports of weather-related incidents in the county, trees down in the roadway, power lines down and no power.

September 2: Staff responded to threats to harm another made over the phone that occurred at the 100 block of Tom Morris Drive, to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a possible fight in progress, to the 100 block of Fitzhugh Street for a stolen Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun, and to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another.

September 3: Staff responded to the the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a small log in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 2800 block of White Chapel Road for the attempted cashing of a forged check, to the 500 block of Cowshed Road for identification theft, to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a trespasser, to the 1400 block of Windmill Point Road for the report of a suspicious person, to the 4300 block of Windmill Point Road for the report of a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 200 block of Moran Creek Road for the possible overdose of narcotics.

September 4: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Devils Bottom roads for a suspicious vehicle, to the 8300 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to the 500 block of Cowshed Road for shots fired, to a walk-in report of a person with an altered mental status, to Cove Colony and Myer Creek roads for a noise violation from loud music, to the 100 block of Windjammer Lane for a reckless driver, to Mosquito Point Road for several motorcyclist driving recklessly, to the 50 block of Middle Gate for a suspicious vehicle, to the 500 block of Pinckardsville Road for suspicious activity, and to the 300 block of Mosquito Point Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

September 5: Staff responded to the 200 block of Burnt Wharf Road for two motorcyclist driving recklessly, to the 400 block of King Carter Drive for a hit and run property damage accident, to the 2500 block of Merry Point Road for a fight in progress involving alcohol, to the 200 block of Buzzards Neck Road for shots fired into an occupied dwelling with injuries, and to a walk-in report of trespassing. 

Staff also conducted 17 traffic stops, issued 10 summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled nine calls for traffic control, investigated nine building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged three inmate transports, received 25 E911 hang-up calls and fielded two requests for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to two separate traffic crashes on Windmill Point Road, a clothes dryer fire on Kenner Drive, a possible propane leak on Cool Springs Road and a brush fire on Windmill Point Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a lawnmower fire on Clover Lane and a hay bale fire on Lara Road.
