Sheriff’s Report 11-24-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against three individuals.

Felony

Donovan Ramon Gregory, 22, of White Stone was charged November 18 with grand larceny of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and shoplifting goods valued at under $200.

Misdemeanors

A Newport News woman, 22, was charged November 18 with assault.

A Weems man, 18, was charged November 19 with assault and battery of a family member.

Activity report

Nov. 15: Staff responded to a walk-in report of theft from a safe, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a board with nails in the roadway, to vandalism of a vehicle that occurred at the 100 block of Old Field Road, and to the 300 block of North Main Street for a vehicle fire.

Nov. 16: Staff responded to a walk-in report of an assault that occurred at the 5100 block of Mary Ball Road, and to the 200 block of Kelley Neck Road for a sudden death.

Nov. 17: Staff responded to the 100 block of Fitchett Drive for a missing adult male, to the Norris Bridge for a single-vehicle traffic crash that required rescue of the driver from the Rappahannock River, and to Mary Ball Road in the Lancaster area for the report of a reckless driver.

Nov. 18: Staff responded to the 200 block of Old Fair Grounds Way to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with an unruly trespasser, to the 7700 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a two-vehicle traffic crash involving an overturned vehicle and injuries, to Mary Ball and Goodluck roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash with injuries.

Nov. 19: Staff responded to the 5100 block of Mary Ball Road for violation of a protective order, to Mary Ball and Devils Bottom roads for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 500 block of James Wharf Road for trespassing to hunt, to Walnut Street and Irvington Road for stalking, to the 100 block of Roseneath Avenue to assist KPD with a domestic disturbance, to the 500 block of Johns Neck Road for a domestic assault, and to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a disorderly person.

Nov. 20: Staff responded to the 300 block of Old Ferry Road for trespassers, and to the 2100 block of Windmill Point Road for a domestic disturbance.

Nov. 21: Staff responded to the 100 block of Fern Road for juveniles consuming alcohol, to the 100 block of Riverwood Drive for a person with an altered mental status, to the 2100 block of Windmill Point Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 9200 block of Mary Ball Road for suspicious activity, to the 5800 block of Rivers Landing Terrace to check the welfare of a resident, to the 100 block of Beach Cove Drive for a suspicious male, to the 200 block of Reynolds Farm Road to check the welfare of a resident, and to School and Cralle streets for a possible suicidal person.

Staff also conducted seven traffic stops, issued four summonses, recorded four deer strike accidents, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received 16 E911 hang-up calls, and handled three calls for animal control.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on North Main Street, a traffic crash at Mary Ball and Goodluck roads, with Upper Lancaster VFD to a traffic crash on Jessie duPont Memorial Highway, and with White Stone VFD to a structure fire on Mary Ball Road.

White Stone VFD also responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Lancaster Drive.
