Wreath distribution
CASA Christmas wreath distribution is slated from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, December 2, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday and Saturday, December 3 and 4, in the Chesapeake Commons Shopping Center in Kilmarnock. Look for the CASA signs.
Distribution is also slated from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, December 4, at Primis Bank in Burgess and 1-3 p.m. Saturday, December 4, at Warsaw Town Park in Warsaw.
Seasonal musical
The Westmoreland Players will present “Sanders Family Christmas” at the Westmoreland Players Theater, 16217 Richmond Road, Callao. The show will be staged at 7:30 p.m. December 3, 10, 17 and 18; and 3 p.m. December 4, 5, 11, 12 and 19.

Santa’s Village
Town Centre Park, 150 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, will host Santa’s Village, a Christmas-themed, mini North Pole, on Friday, December 3. At each of six tents, families will find an activity and goodie to take home. There will be photo opportunities with Santa.
This is a ticketed event with a $10 per child and $15 per adult charge. Tickets are on sale now and can only be purchased at kilmarnockva.ticketleap.com.
Christmas Chili
The Woman’s Club of White Stone (WCWS) will hold a Christmas Chili Sale Saturday, December 4. The fee is $13 per quart. Pre-order at 804-435-0441. State name, phone number and quantity desired for confirmation.
Drive-by pick-up from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at WCWS Clubhouse, 560 Chesapeake Drive, White Stone.
Quilt raffle
Adams Post 86 American Legion in Kilmarnock is raffling a quilt. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. A drawing will be held Saturday, December 4.
Tickets may be purchased by calling Heather at 436-7466 and from any Auxiliary members.
Festival of Trees
The 24th annual Festival of Trees fundraising event to benefit the Northern Neck family YMCA Guardian Program will be held virtually at 7 p.m. Saturday, December 4. The $50 ticket includes a virtual live auction and choice of surf and turf, or vegetarian dinner to be picked up from 4:30-6:30 p.m. December 4 at Willaby’s Café, 327 Old Ferry Road, White Stone.
Patrons may purchase a ticket, view both the live and silent auction items and register for a bidding number at ymcavp.org/fot. An online silent auction opened November 26. Patrons do not need festival tickets to participate in the virtual silent auction, but they will need a bid number.
Callao Christmas
The 2021 Christmas in Callao celebration will be held Sunday, December 5. The theme will be “A Very Nauti Christmas in Callao.”
Festivities will include a bazaar, 1-4 p.m.; car and truck show, 1-3 p.m.; parade, 4 p.m; Nativity pageant, dusk; and tree lighting.
Free days
Stratford Hall will offer free days, December 8-10, for residents of Westmoreland, King George, Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond and Essex counties. Explore the over 1,800 acres with a Grounds Pass and experience the Great House and historic buildings through one of four self-guided audio tours.
Reserve in advance at stratfordhall.org for either 10 a.m., noon, or 2 p.m. Limited tour tickets are available. Residents will receive a 10% discount in the Gift Shop and Friends of Stratford members a 20% discount during free days.
Christmastide
Stratford Hall, 483 Great House Road, will hold an open house Christmastide celebration from 5-8 p.m. December 11.
The mansion will be decorated in holiday spirit. Listen to colonial music and step into the kitchen to see colonial food cooking on the original 1738 hearth.
On Stage
The Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts 2021-22 On Stage concert series will continue December 18 with Sons of Serendip.
Admission is by season subscription or single ticket, $45. For tickets, call the RFA at 804-438-5555. Individuals will then be placed on a “Will Call” list.
Holiday fun
RAL Art Center, 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, will host a paint night from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, December 9. Participants will create up to three one-of-a-kind holiday cards using pen and ink with watercolor washes. Choose from a variety of traditional holiday and fun nautical festive images.
Doug Mock will lead the class. Bring a favorite beverage and snack. Masks are required. To register, call 436-9309.
Country breakfast
Lancaster Union Lodge #88 A.F. & A.M. will serve an all-you-can-eat country breakfast from 7-10 a.m. on second Saturdays, at the Lodge, 48 North Main Street, Kilmarnock. The fee is $10. Ages 8 and younger eat free.
The menu will include fluffy scrambled eggs (fried eggs on request), pancakes (blueberry and plain), biscuits, sausage gravy, sausage links, bacon, cheesy grits, home-fried potatoes, fried apples, warm syrup, fruit cocktail, coffee, tea, juice and milk. Orders to go available also.
