Sheriff’s Report 9-05-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Jacob Michael Monday, 20, of Lancaster was charged August 30 with murder in the first degree, concealing a dead body and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Floyd Dee Roberts, 51, of Lancaster was charged September 1 with assault and battery against a person under a protective order resulting in injury, and assault and battery of a family member.

Doristina Reese, 32, of Lancaster was charged August 30 with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle valued at more than $500 and driving a vehicle after the forfeiture of license.

Misdemeanors

A Weems man, 24, was charged August 25 with failure to appear on a traffic summons.

A Weems man, 43, was charged August 29 with contempt of court; disobeying process, judgement.

A Lancaster man, 28, was charged August 31 with possession of marijuana and appearing intoxicated in public.

Activity report 

August 25: Staff responded to the 7800 block of River Road for a disorderly person, to the 5200 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious person, to the 100 block of Fox Hill Drive for a domestic disturbance, to the 500 block of Shore Drive for a domestic disturbance involving a juvenile, and to the 1800 block of Windmill Point Road for a burglary and the theft of domestic animals.

August 26: Staff responded to the 300 block of White Hall Road for vandalism of a vehicle, and to the 500 block of Gaskins Road to assist emergency medical services with a patient will a severe illness.

August 27: Staff responded to the 500 block of Southport Lane for a suspicious person, to the 4100 block of Weems Road for vandalism of a vehicle, to the 100 block of Joyful Way for a burglary and the theft of a television, to the 300 block of Chesapeake Drive for a disorderly intoxicated person, to the 100 block of Washington Street for a domestic disturbance, to the 4100 block of Merry Point Road for a domestic disturbance involving a juvenile, and to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another.

August 28: Staff responded to the 100 block of North Main Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department with a hit and run traffic crash, and to the 300 block of Chesapeake Drive for a trespasser.

August 29: Staff responded to the 100 block of Bruce Avenue for a domestic disturbance, and to the 1900 block of Lara Road for a single-vehicle versus a tree traffic crash.

August 30: Staff responded to the 200 block of Pinckardsville Road for a stolen vehicle, and to the 4000 block of Mary Ball Road for an intoxicated person driving on private property.

August 31: Staff responded to the 200 block of Riverview Road for possible suspicious activity, to the 18400 block of Mary Ball Road for an abandoned vehicle, to White Chapel and Mary Ball roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Merry Point Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 4800 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic disturbance involving a juvenile, and to the 5100 block of Morattico Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash.

September 1: Staff responded to Christ Church Road for the report of gun shots, to the 800 block of Kamps Mill Road for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Flats Lane for damage to a mailbox, to a walk-in report of a violation of a protective order, and to the 100 block of Reynolds Farm Road for a juvenile behavior issue.

Staff also conducted nine traffic stops, issued eight summonses, assisted 10 motorists, recorded four deer strike accidents, handled a call for traffic control, investigated a building alarm, logged two inmate transports, received 15 E911 hang-up calls and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on Jessie duPont Memorial Highway, and with the White Stone VFD to a brush fire on Johns Neck Road.

The White Stone VFD responded to a traffic crash on Lancaster Drive.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on Morattico Road.

EMS calls

For August 25-31, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 36 calls for service, including 17 medical emergencies, three injuries, five traffic accidents, a fire and 10 other calls.
