Sheriffs’ Reports 04-27-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week had no arrests to report.

Activity report

April 17: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for the report of a pedestrian crossing the bridge, and to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road to assist emergency medical services with a medical emergency.

April 18: Staff responded to the Norris Bridge for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to Mary Ball and Harris roads to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 1100 block of Corrrotoman Circle for threats made to harm another, to the 200 block of Lumberlost Road for the report of an illegal controlled burn, and to the 10000 block of River Road for an unattended/abandoned vehicle.

April 19: Staff responded to a walk-in report of trespassing that occurred at the 100 block of Otis Lane, and to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a fight in progress.

April 20: Staff responded to the 3600 block of Irvington Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 300 block of Moran Creek Road for a civil issue, to the 800 block of Light Street to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a single-vehicle traffic crash where the operator left the scene.

April 21: Staff responded to Arrowhead Drive for suspicious activity, to the 4500 block of Mary Ball Road to assist Virginia State Police with the execution of a search warrant, to the Norris Bridge for a pedestrian walking illegally on the roadway, to the 5300 block of Morattico Road for a domestic disturbance, for a second time to the 5300 block of Morattico Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 300 block of Waddy Drive to check the welfare of a resident.

April 22: Staff responded to the 100 block of Belle Isle Road for a noise violation in the early morning hours, to the 100 block of Doggett Lane for suspicious activity, to Mary Ball and Fleets Bay roads for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to Mary Ball and Pinckardsville roads for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 100 block of First Street for threats made to harm another, to the 1400 block of Lumberlost Road for trespassers, and to the 1100 block of Regina Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash involving a power pole.

April 23: Staff responded to the 200 block of Coxs Farm Road for a vehicle partially in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 100 block of Cherry Hill Road for shooting in the area, and to Mary Ball Road in White Stone for a reckless driver.

Staff also conducted five traffic stops, issued two summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled 10 calls for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, logged two inmate transports, and received 36 E911 hang up calls.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster and Kilmarnock volunteer fire departments responded to a brush fire on Creekwater Drive.

Kilmarnock VFD also responded to a traffic crash on Mary Ball and Harris roads, a brush fire on River Oak Drive and with White Stone VFD to an outbuilding structure fire on Cherry Point Drive.

White Stone VFD also responded to a traffic crash on the Norris Bridge.

Upper Lancaster VFD also responded to a traffic crash on Regina Road.
