Sheriffs’ Reports 05-12-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against two individuals.

A Heathsville man, 23, was charged May 8 for shoplifting/altering the price of goods valued at less than $1,000.

A Hartfield man, 38, was charged May 8 with trespassing after being forbidden to do so.

Activity Report

May 2: Staff responded to the 100 block of Rose Drive for suspicious activity, to the 500 block of Western Branch Road for a hit and run property damage accident, to the 500 block of Goodluck Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a family member, to the 100 block of Belle Isle Road for a domestic disturbance; and to the 800 block of Ivey Creek Road for trespassing;

May 3: Staff responded to the 1100 block of Corrotoman Drive for vandalism of a tennis court, to Mary Ball and Pinckardsville roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Nuttsville Road for a suicidal person, and to the 3000 block of Merry Point Road for the report of a single-vehicle traffic crash.

May 4: Staff responded to the 100 block of Clover Lane for damage to a residential driveway, to the 500 block of Gaskins Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 300 block of Quarters Cove Drive for suspicious activity, to the intersection of Lara and White Chapel roads for stolen vehicle registration tags.

May 5: Staff responded to the 600 block of North Main Street for a reckless driver, and to the 500 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for juvenile behavior issues.

May 6: Staff responded to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a disorderly person; responded to the 900 block of Ocran Road to check the welfare of the resident after being alerted by a neighbor, to the 1300 block of Pinckardsville Road for tan overturned single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 600 block of Black Stump Road for the report of a trespasser.

May 7: Staff responded to the 200 block of Kathy Drive to assist Emergency Medical Services with two unresponsive patients, to Irvington Road and White Pine Drive for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard.

May 8: Staff responded to the 1400 block of Laurel Point Road for a possible burglary in progress, to the 2900 block of Lara Road for a possible overdose of narcotics, and to a walk-in report of threats to harm another.

Staff also conducted 12 traffic stops, issued five summonses, assisted two motorists, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, received six E911 hang-up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire/smoke alarm on North Main Street, a fire/smoke alarm on School Street, a power line down on James B. Jones Memorial Highway and with White Stone and Upper Lancaster volunteer fire departments to a structure fire on Dogwood Lane.

White Stone VFD also responded to a traffic crash at Old Salem and Irvington roads.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 13 individuals.

Felonies

Donovan Ramon Gregory, 23, of Lancaster was charged April 25 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for three counts of malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and malicious shooting into an occupied building. Gregory also was charged with malicious shooting at a vehicle and destruction of property. He was served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Elijah Walter McKinley, 23, of Heathsville was charged April 26 on a capias to show cause for failing to appear in the Northumberland County Circuit Court.

Tyrone Noel Samuel, 50, of Heathsville was charged April 27 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for abduction by intimation.

Charise Whitney Samuels, 28, of Hampton was charged April 28 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for three counts of malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and maliciously shooting into an occupied building. She also was charged with malicious shooting at a vehicle and destruction of property. She was served by the Hampton Police Department.

Rayquawn Tylik Ball, 23, of Lancaster was charged April 28 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for two counts of malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was served Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Derrick O’Neal Wood Jr., 20, of Lancaster was charged April 29 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for three charges of attempting to shoot with malicious intent, one count of shooting at a vehicle and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, first offense. He was served by the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.

Davon Walter Gaines, 29, of Lancaster was charged May 2 with a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland Court Circuit Court for three counts of malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and maliciously shooting into an occupied building. He also was charged with maliciously shooting in a vehicle and destruction of property.

James Allen Johnson, 39, of Lottsburg was charged May 5 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for two counts of distributing/selling for profit a Schedule I/II drug.

Nathan Allen Kramer, 21, of  Callao was charged May 5 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for two counts of distributing/selling for profit a Schedule I/II drug. Kramer also was was charged May 5 on a direct indictment issued by the Richmond County Circuit Court for three counts of distributing/selling for profit a Schedule I/II drug. He was served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Misdemeanors

A Callao man, 26, was charged May 1 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Lottsburg man, 62, was charged May 2 with trespassing.

A Lottsburg man, 28, was charged May 2 with a capias/attachment of the body for failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court.

A Callao woman (no age given) was charged May 5 with three counts of depredation of a dog.
