Sheriffs’ Reports 06-09-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Curt Dowdy, 47, of Farnham was charged June 2 with a probation violation on a felony offense.

Jennifer Anne Pickrel, 53, of White Stone was charged June 3 with probation violation on a felony offense.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster woman, 56, was charged June 2 with driving while intoxicated with blood alcohol content over .20% and reckless driving.

A Kilmarnock man, 30, was charged June 2 with violating a protective order, second offense within five years, and trespassing after being forbidden to do so.

A Lancaster woman, 31, was charged June 2 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

Activity report

May 30: Staff responded to the 100 block of Hawthorne Avenue for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Currell Cove Lane for a possible missing boater on Carter Creek, to the 300 block of Club Drive for a boat fire, and to the 8700 block of Courthouse Road for suspicious activity.

May 31: Staff responded to the 8900 block of Mary Ball Road for a sudden death, to the 100 block of Henry’s Creek Lane to assist NCSO with the report of a domestic disturbance; responded to Old Salem and Ring Farm roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash with serious injuries, and to the 100 block of Twin Branch Road for a suicidal person with a weapon.

June 1: Staff responded to the 5700 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to the 100 block of Wiggins Avenue for a verbal disagreement, to the 5500 block of Irvington Road for property damage, to the 4200 block of Morattico Road for a suspicious vehicle;, to the 100 block of Fox Hill Drive to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a missing juvenile, to the 1000 block of Crab Point Road for a tree down in the roadway, to the 100 block of Georgetown Lane for a single-vehicle traffic crash and responded to the 200 block of Woodbrook Drive for a domestic disturbance.

June 2: Staff responded to a walk-in report of a larceny that occurred at the 1800 block of Windmill Point Road, to the 1600 block of Irvington Road for a child custody dispute, to the 2700 block of Merry Point Road for vandalism of the post office, to the 100 block of Wiggins Avenue for a trespasser, to the 700 block of River Road for a downed tree blocking the roadway, and to several reports of trees down in the roadway in the county from a severe thunderstorm.

June 3: Staff responded to the 4200 block of Irvington Road for  a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for the report of a stalker, to a walk-in report of a stolen trailer, and to the 5300 block of Morattico Road for the report of a verbal disagreement.

June 4: Staff responded to the 100 block of Bobwhite Lane for an assault, and to the 1400 block of Laurel Point Road for a burglary and larceny of U.S. currency.

June 5: Staff responded to the 5300 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious person, to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way for a domestic disturbance, to Goodluck Road and Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for  a reckless driver, to the 100 block of James Lane for gunshots in the area, and to Tabbs Choice Road for a domestic disturbance.

Staff also conducted 19 traffic stops, issued 11 summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded four deer strike accidents, handled a call for traffic control, investigated 102 building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged three inmate transports, received 12 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a boat fire on Club Drive, a fire/smoke alarm on William B. Graham Court, a fire/smoke alarm on Ditchley Road, a tractor fire on Kent Point Road, and with White Stone VFD to a structure fire on Berrywood Lane.

White Stone VFD also responded to a traffic crash at Old Salem and Ring Farm Roads; and to a fire/smoke alarm on Lancaster Drive.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 16 individuals.

Felonies

William E. Sanford III, 65, or Heathsville was charged May 17 with making a false statement on the consent form for a firearm transaction. This was a Hanover County warrant served by the Northumberland County Sheriff s Office (NCSO).

Dere’Onta Jauntice Redman, 21, of Heathsville was charged May 23, with several felonies including one count of malicious shooting into an occupied building; two counts of malicious shooting from a vehicle; two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, first offense; eight counts of attempted malicious shooting; shooting at an occupied vehicle; and two counts of damaging property. These were Northumberland County warrants, served by the Lancaster County Sheriffs Office.

Derrick Antonio Saunders, 30, of Hague was charged May 25 by the Virginia State Police on three counts of sex offender registration violations. He was served by the NCSO.

Donald Lee Michalak Jr., 31, of Heathsville was charged June 3 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for a violation of his parole. He was served by the Richmond County Sheriffs Office (RCSO).

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 49, was charged May 17 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court to have his bond revoked/modified for falling to comply with pre-trial supervision by testing positive for drugs and alcohol.

A Heathsville woman, 21, was charged May 17 on a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear after signing a summons to appear for arraignment.

A Lottsburg man, 59, was charged May 19 with violating a protective order.

A Callao man, 32, was charged May 20 on a capias for violating his recognizance and condition of his bond. This was a Richmond County Circuit Court Capias served by the NCSO.

A Heathsville man, 42, was charged May 20 with attempting to defeat a drug or alcohol screening test by substitution of a sample. This was a Richmond County warrant served by the NCSO.

A Burgess man, 35, was charged May 21 with assault and battery of a family member.

A King George man, 20, was charged May 21 with possession of alcohol under age and drunk in public.

A Kilmarnock man, 27, was charged May 22 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Farnham man, 46, was charged May 25 on a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for failing to appear. He was served by the RCSO.

A Reedville man, 35, was charged June 5 with violating a protective order five times.

A White Stone man, 24, was charged June 5 with obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct.

A Heathsville man, 27, was charged June 5 with assault and battery.
