Sheriffs’ reports 07-15-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported felony charges against two individuals.

David Marquette Green, 49, of Lancaster was charged July 5 with possession or transporting a firearm after having been convicted of a felony.

Keith Lionel Beane Jr., 21, of Lancaster was charged July 8 with possession or transporting a firearm after having been convicted of a felony, intentionally destroying property valued at over $1,000, violating bail/pretrial services: failure to appear and three counts of failure to appear in court on felony offenses.

Activity report

July 5: Staff responded to the 200 block of Newtown Road to check the welfare of several juveniles after being alerted by a family member, to the 9100 block of Mary Ball Road to assist Virginia State Police (VSP) with a traffic stop of a person identified as a sovereign citizen, to the 100 block of School Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a domestic disturbance, to the 1000 block of Beanes Road for a domestic assault, to Harris Road for a vehicle and trailer stopped in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to New South and Mary Ball roads to assist VSP with a traffic stop of a wanted person, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a large piece of wood in the roadway, to the 1800 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a domestic assault, and to the 200 block of Lonesome Pine Trail for the report of a missing adult.

July 6: Staff responded to the 4600 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 3200 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a missing person with dementia, to the 1200 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash with injuries, and to the 500 block of Johns Neck Road to check the welfare of a resident.

July 7: Staff responded to the report of threats made to harm another at the 100 block of Teal Drive, to a walk-in report of money obtained under false pretenses, to the 200 block of Taylors Creek Road to assist emergency medical services, to the 1300 block of Harris Road for the theft of two portable air conditioner units, to the 200 block of Taylors Creek Road to assist Social Services with an investigation, to the Norris Bridge for debris in the roadway, and to the 100 block of Towles Point Road for the reported misuse of 911 telephone line.

July 8: Staff responded to the 500 block of Pinckardsville Road for the theft of a Springfield Model SDX .45 caliber handgun, to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for money obtained under false pretense, to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for trespassers, and to the Norris Bridge for a tire in the roadway causing a traffic hazard.

July 9: Staff responded to the 3700 block of Weems Road for a utility line down in the roadway, and to Clover Lane for possible gunshots in the evening hours.

July 10: Staff responded to the 1300 block of Rocky Neck Road for a burglary and larceny of items, to the 1000 block of Cherry Point Drive for a possible burglary, and to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another that occurred at the 6100 block of Mary Ball Road.

July 11: Staff responded to White Chapel and Old Bethel Roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 5000 block of Windmill Point Road for a sudden death, to the 300 block of Gaskins Road for a verbal disagreement involving alcohol, to the 8600 block of Courthouse Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash with injuries, to the 1300 block of Oak Hill Road for threats made to harm another, to the 400 block of North Main Street for disorderly conduct, and to the 1100 block of Carlson Road for suspicious activity.

Staff also conducted 18 traffic stops, issued 12 summons, assisted six motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, investigated four building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged five inmate transports and received 19 E911 hang-up calls.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a search for a missing person on Crawfords Corner Road, a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road, and a lift assistance request on School Street.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to downed trees in the roadway on White Chapel Road, at Lara and White Chapel roads and Belmont Creek and River roads, and a traffic crash on Courthouse Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a lift assistance request on Lagrange Avenue.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 21 individuals.

Felonies

Brian David Geronimo, 32, was charged June 14 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for selling/possessing with intent to distribute a Schedule I/II drug, third or subsequent offense. He also was charged with grand larceny. All charges were Northumberland County charges and served by the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Lacey Renea Edwards-Michalak, 30, of Callao was charged June 18 with a capias to show cause issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court and two capias/attachments of the body issued from the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear in their court. She was served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO). She also was charged June 21 on a capias to show cause issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to comply with her pre-trial services.

Brian O’Neal Jones, 32, of Callao was charged June 22 with assault and battery of a police officer, obstruction of justice and criminal trespassing.

Kristen Maxine King, 24, of Callao was charged June 25 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for selling/distributing an imitation Schedule I/II drug. She was served by the Henrico County Police Department.

Michael Deshawn Long, 35, of Heathsville was charged June 26 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for two counts of selling/possessing with intent to distribute a Schedule I/II drug, third or subsequent offense. He also was charged with gross wanton or reckless care for a child and possession of a firearm after being a convicted felon. He was served by LCSO.

Richard Garland Gallagher Jr., 43, of Ashland was charged June 28 with shooting a firearm from a vehicle and maliciously shooting at an occupied vehicle. These were Northumberland County warrants served by the Henrico County Sheriff’s Office.

Marcus Renard Crawley, 30, of Callao was charged June 29 with strangulation and malicious wounding.

Charles Coates, 27, of Heathsville was charged June 29 with object sexual penetration of a child under the age of 13. He also was charged with one count of aggravated sexual battery, five counts of producing/making child pornography and five count of possession of child pornography.

Kevin Ray Cunningham, 33, of Reedville was charged June 30 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for selling/distribution of a Scheduled I/II drug.

Daniel John Botelho, 24, of Warsaw was charged July 1 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for selling/distributing a controlled substance, namely a Schedule I/II drug. Botelho was served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Johnathan Lawrence Collins, 34, of Callao was charged July 5 with driving under the influence of alcohol, third offense within 10 years. He also was charged with possession of a Schedule I/II drug, reckless driving, possession of controlled paraphernalia and illegal dumping of trash.

Blake Re’Shad Taylor-Rice, 23, of Heathsville was charged July 6 with strangulation and assault and battery of a family member.

Misdemeanors

A Kilmarnock man (no age given) was charged June 16 on a summons for abusive language to another.

A Heathsville woman, 33, was charged June 18 with identity theft, used to coerce or harass.

A Dunnsville man, 21, was charged June 21 with failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court on original charges of DUI and reckless driving.

A Heathsville man, 32, was charged June 26 with driving on a revoked license, DUI related.

A Reedville man, 46, was charged June 27 with disorderly conduct.

A Heathsville man, 55, was charged June 27 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, and speeding.

A Callao man, 27, was charged June 29 with a capias to show cause issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to comply with pre-trial supervision by testing positive for drugs.

A Heathsville man, 71, was charged June 30 with assault and battery.

A Heathsville man, 48, was charged July 6 with criminal trespassing and being drunk in public.
