Sheriffs’ Reports 09-15-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against eight individuals.

Felonies

Corinthia Lee Wellington, 69, of White Stone was charged September 5 with malicious assault by acid/explosive/fire and assault.

Samuel Balmer Terry, 37, of Kilmarnock was charged September 7 with burglary: entering a structure to commit larceny/assault and battery/etc. and possession of burglary tools.

Alkendra Shatoye Coleman, 31, of Lancaster was charged September 7 with a probation violation on a felony offense.

James Nathen Hite, 50, of Mechanicsville was charged September 9 with two counts of probation violation on felony charges.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster woman, 53, was charged September 8 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Heathsville man, 42, was charged September 9 with failure to report to jail as ordered on a misdemeanor offense.

A White Stone man, 34, was charged September 10 with intentionally damaging property valued at less than $1,000.

A White Stone man, 27, was charged September 11 with carrying a concealed weapon, reckless driving: speeding over 80 mph, and no driver’s license in possession.

Activity report

September 5: Staff responded to the 500 block of Gaskins Road for threats made to harm another person, to the 400 block of Johns Neck Road for a verbal disagreement, to Oak Farm Road for juvenile trespassers, to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a disorderly person, to the 600 block of Beach Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Turner Lane for a malicious assault, to Mary Ball Road in Lively for a possible intoxicated driver, and to the 300 block of The Lane to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a suicidal hotline.

September 6: Staff responded to the 3400 block of Lara Road for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Old Bethel Road for an abandoned vehicle, to Mary Ball and Regina roads for a three-vehicle traffic crash.

September 7: Staff responded to the 100 block of Irvington Road to assist KPD with a suspicious person, to the 100 block of Chestnut Point Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 200 block of Flats Lane for identity fraud, to the 1900 block of Irvington Road for a burglary in progress, to the 100 block of Devils Bottom Road for an individual with an altered mental status, and to the 300 block of Moran Creek Road for a missing autistic juvenile.

September 8: Staff responded to the 300 block of Moran Creek Road for a juvenile behavior issue, and to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a reckless driver.

September 9: Staff responded to the 100 block of Clark Road for property damage, to the 100 block of Cherry Hill Road to check the welfare of a resident, and to the 3200 block of Merry Point Road for a trespasser.

September 10: Staff responded to the 800 block of Ivey Creek Road for a noise violation from loud music, to the 200 block of Newtown Road for a domestic assault, to the 6900 block Jessie duPont Memorial Highway to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with the foot pursuit of a wanted person, to the 100 block of Joyful Way for a domestic disturbance and destruction of property and to the 100 block of Morattico Road for a wanted person.

September 11: Staff responded to the 2100 block of Windmill Point Road for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and to a walk-in report of a renter/landlord issue.

Staff also conducted 55 traffic stops, issued 348 summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled seven calls for traffic control, processed a mental health order, logged five inmate transports, received 19 E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fuel spill on Lancaster Drive.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a lift assistance request on West Drive.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 12 individuals.

Felonies

Kendrick Lamar Diggs, 31, no address given, was charged August 31 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for violating his pre-trial conditions on prior felony charges. He was served by the Richmond County Sheriffs Office.

Edward Crowther Barnes II, 44, of Reedville man was charged September 3 with possession of a Schedule I/II drug, possession of a firearm after being convicted of being a felon and possession of ammunition. He also charged with driving on a revoked license, alcohol related.

Milford S. Diggs, 45, of Burgess was charged September 4 with three felony counts of selling/distributing a Schedule I/II drug. He also was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and driving without a license.

Ashley Nicole Pendleton, 37, of Callao was charged September 11 with unauthorized use of a vehicle, damaging property and assault and battery of a family member.

Misdemeanors

A Callao man, 55, was charged August 29 with a summons for assault and battery.

A Burgess man, 23, was charged August 31 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for violating conditions of his pre-trial by testing positive for drugs. He was served by the Warsaw Town Police.

A Burgess woman, 35, was charged August 31 on a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear.

An Alexandria man, 24, was charged September 2 with assault and battery.

A Reedville man, 35, was charged September 9 with a violation of a protective order.

A Heathsville man, 70, was charged September 9 with driving revoked/alcohol related.

A Stephenson man, 43, was charged September 10 with violating a protective order.

A Callao man, 23, was charged September 10 with being drunk in public.
