Sheriffs’ Reports 09-24-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felony

Myles Quinn Sanders, 27, of Baltimore, Md., was charged September 16 with while being a prisoner in a local correctional facility, introducing into that facility ammunition; while being a prisoner in a local correctional facility, introducing into that facility marijuana; carrying a concealed gun while consuming alcohol in a bar, etc, and appearing intoxicated in public.

Misdemeanors

A Weems man, 67, was charged September 14 with failure to appear in court on a traffic summons.

A Weems woman, 48, was charged September 18 with violating conditions of pretrial release.

A Heathsville man, 45, was charged September 18 with failure to appear on a traffic summons.

A White Stone man, 32, was charged September 20 with failure to appear on a misdemeanor offense and two counts of contempt of court.

Activity report

Sept. 14: Staff responded to the 100 block of Hidden Cove Drive for a person with mental issues.

Sept. 15: Staff responded to the 100 block of Joyful Way for the vandalism of vehicle tires, the 11000 block of River Road for juvenile behavior issues; and to Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and Ditchley Road for a reckless driver.

Sept. 16: Staff responded to Pinckardsville Road for a vehicle pursuit by law enforcement, to the 4500 block of Mary Ball Road for illegal dumping of debris, to the 100 block of Holly Cove Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a friend, and to the 300 block of Avonne Avenue for a disturbance with a large crowd.

Sept. 17: Staff responded to the 100 block of Binnacle Lane for a suspicious person, to the 100 block of Turner Lane for trespassers, to the 1100 block of Black Stump Road for theft of political signs, to the 100 block of Hidden Cove Drive for a person with altered mental status, and to a walk-in report of an assault.

Sept. 18: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road in Lancaster for a reckless driver, to the 100 block of Kathy Drive to check the welfare of the residents after being alerted by a neighbor, to Levelgreen and Ottoman Ferry roads for a downed tree in the roadway, to Old Salem and Mary Ball roads for theft of a catalytic converter, to Washington Street for 4-wheelers on the highway, to the 4400 block of Black Stump Road for gunshots, to the 600 block of Chesapeake Drive for a noise violation from loud music, and to the 1800 block of Black Stump Road for the report of a single-vehicle traffic crash versus a tree.

Sept. 19: Staff responded to the 100 block of Clover Lane for a domestic disturbance, to the 900 block of Johns Neck Road for a prowler, to the 1000 block of Beanes Road to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with a warrant service, to Greenvale Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 100 block of First Street for a trespasser, and to Bertrand Place for trespassers.

Sept. 20: Staff responded to Courthouse and Davis Mill roads for gunshots from a vehicle occupied by four persons, to Carlson and Crawfords Corner roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash with serious injuries, and to the 200 block of Shady Lane for a larceny.

Staff also conducted 20 traffic stops, issued six summonses, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a call for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged four inmate transports, received 40 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department assisted emergency medical services on Sandlin Drive and responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Newtown Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash at Mary Ball and Pierces roads, and a traffic crash at Crawfords Corner and Carlson roads.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a traffic crash on Black Stump Road and a fire on Kenmore Avenue.

Upper Lancaster and Kilmarnock responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Mastons Wharf Road and to downed trees on Devils Bottom Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Corneisha Kelly, 19, of Heathsville was charged September 19 with violating a General District Court protective order armed with a weapon. She was also charged with transporting a gun while being the subject of a protective order.

Matthew Dyland Bryant, 25, of Callao was charged September 20 with felony strangulation, possession of a controlled substance, namely a schedule I or II drug and damaging property. He was also charged with misdemeanor damaging property, brandishing a firearm and assault and battery of a family member.

Misdemeanors

A Callao woman, 45, was charged September 14 with disorderly conduct.

A Reedville woman, 22, was charged September 18 on a Richmond County capias to show cause for failing to comply with pre-trial supervision by receiving a new charge of assault and battery. She was served by the NCSO.

A Burgess man, 38, was charged September 19 with being drunk in public.

A White Stone man, 32, was charged September 20 with a Northumberland County capias/attachment of the body for failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court. He was served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
