Sheriffs’ Reports 11-19-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against three individuals.

A Lancaster woman, 55, was charged November 9 with using a telephone to annoy another by ringing without intent to converse.

A White Stone man, 38, was charged November 14 with a violating a protective order.

A Heathsville woman, 62, was charged November 14 with four counts of presenting a worthless check knowing there were insufficient funds in the account.

Activity report

Nov. 9: Staff responded to the 100 block of Campbell Road for obtaining money by false pretense, to the 4400 block of Irvington Road for an attempted scam, to the 1400 block of Weems Road for a domestic assault, to the 500 block of Good Luck Road for shots fired at a residence from a passing vehicle, to River Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another.

Nov. 10: Staff responded to the 500 block of Paynes Creek Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 3100 block of Weems Road for stolen vehicle license plates.

Nov. 11: Staff responded to the 1000 block of Buzzards Neck Road for a domestic assault, to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for an abandoned vehicle, and to the 100 block of Spring Street for suspicious activity.

Nov. 12: Staff responded to Mary Ball and River roads for a downed tree in the roadway, to the 100 block of Shoreline Drive for failure to return a rental car, and to the 100 block of Reynolds Farm Road to check the welfare of a juvenile after being alerted by a family member.

Nov. 13: Staff responded to the 1800 block of Hoecake Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 400 block of Wilson Lane for trespassers, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for the report of aggressive driving, to the 400 block of King Carter Drive for vandalism, and to the 300 block of Callis Road for violation of a protective order.

Nov. 14: Staff responded to a walk-in report of an assault that occurred at the 200 block of Cow Shed Road, to the 1400 block of Hoecake Road for a verbal disagreement, to the 1800 block of Hoecake Road for a suicidal person, and to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department with disorderly persons.

Nov. 15: Staff responded to the 100 block of Ice House Drive for loud music and disorderly conduct, to the 100 block of John Creek Road to assist Newport News Police Department with a traffic crash investigation, and to the 700 block of Nuttsville Road for a trespasser.

Staff also conducted 12 traffic stops, issued six summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded nine deer strike accidents, investigated six building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged three inmate transport, received 27 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded six calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock and White Stone volunteer fire departments responded to an electrical fire on Main Street.

White Stone VFD also responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Chesapeake Drive, a powerline fire on Old Ferry Road and to Pirates Place for a downed tree.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felony

Dakota Anastasio Galves, 25, of Reedville was charged November 10 with conspiracy to distribute/sell more than five pounds of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute/sell five pounds or more of marijuana.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 32, was charged November 10 with disorderly conduct.

A Heathsville man, 26, was charged November 13 with failing to appear in court for the original charge or reckless driving. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Virginia State Police.

A Callao man, 58, was charged November 14 with assault and battery of a family member and reckless handling of a firearm as to danger life, limb or property.
