Sheriffs’ Reports

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Sherman M. Stewart Jr., 36, of Richmond was charged March 5 with two felony counts of breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, three felony counts of grand larceny and a felony warrant of extradition.

Josaline R. Murphy, 27, of River Road was charged March 11 with felony assault and battery of a law enforcement officer and the destruction of private property.

Misdemeanors

A Gilbert Street woman, 20, was charged March 8 with assault and battery.

A New South Road man, 36, was charged March 10 with obstructing justice and public intoxication.

A Heathsville man, 34, was charged March 11 with driving with a suspended or revoked license.

A Heathsville woman, 27, was charged March 11 with possession of marijuana.

Activity report

March 5: Staff responded to the 600 block of Coxs Farm Road to assist emergency services (EMS) on a medical condition/distress alert, to the 100 block of Landing Drive to check the welfare of a resident after not being heard from for over a week.

March 6: Staff responded to the 5400 block of Irvington Road for a possible medical condition after being notified by life alert, and to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for an attempted burglary.

March 7: Staff responded to the 300 block of Greentown Road for a suspicious vehicle stopped in a private driveway, to Windmill Point Road for high water and debris in the highway, to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a disorderly juvenile, and to the 1300 block of Black Stump Road for a possible burglary.

March 8: Staff responded to the 10600 block of Mary Ball Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash.

March 9: Staff responded to the 100 block of Clark Point Road for a burglary in progress of an occupied residence, and to the 700 block of Miskimon Road for a stolen vehicle.

March 10: Staff responded to the 100 block of New South Road for a domestic disturbance that involved alcohol and weapon, to the 400 block of Mosquito Point Road extortion using a social dating site, to the 100 block of Lampkin Lane to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with a home invasion, to the 400 block of Levelgreen Road for a suspicious person, to Mary Ball Road between Kilmarnock and Lancaster for shots fired at an occupied vehicle while moving, to the 500 block of Southport Lane for a verbal disagreement involving alcohol, and to the 2900 block of White Chapel Road for a subject passed out in a vehicle.

March 11: Staff responded to the 900 block of Griffins Landing Road for the report of domestic disturbance resulting in an arrest; responded to the 1800 block of Weems Road for the report of domestic assault and the unauthorized use of a vehicle; responded to the 8200 block of Mary Ball Road for the report of an assault on a law enforcement officer.

Staff also conducted 25 traffic stops, issued 15 summonses, assisted eight motorists, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, logged one inmate transport, received 12 E911 hang-up calls and fielded 11 calls for animal control.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on Radio Road, a lift assistance request for EMS on Shady Lane, a chimney fire on Bluff Point Road and a brush fire on Lumberlost Road.

Kilmarnock VFD responded with Upper Lancaster VFD to a possible structure fire on Oakwood Avenue. Upper Lancaster VFD also responded to a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road.

Kilmarnock VFD responded with White Stone VFD to a vehicle fire on Scott Road. Whites Stone VFD also responded to a transformer fire on Ocran Road and a brush fire on Mary Ball Road.

EMS calls

For the week of March 4 through 10, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 48 calls for service including 24 medical emergencies, six injuries, two traffic accidents, six fire calls and 10 other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Angelica Marie Leonora Godbey, 27, of Heathsville was charged March 1 on a capias from the Westmoreland County Circuit Court for failing to obey a court order, resulting in her bond being revoked.

Deondre Tavon Lampkin, 24, of Heathsville was charged March 9 with petit larceny, third-plus offense for stealing moonshine from the ABC Store in Kilmarnock. This was a Lancaster County warrant served by the NCSO.

Paul Marallis Young Sr., 48, of Heathsville was charged March 10 with strangulation, abuse/child neglect and assault and battery of a family member.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 57, was charged March 7 with six counts of criminal trespassing at the Corner Market Store.

A Heathsville man, 29, was charged March 9 with a capias to show cause for failing to obey a court order, resulting in the bond being revoked.

A Heathsville man, 34, was charged March 11 with driving suspended/revoked and impeding/stopping in traffic. These were Northumberland County warrants, served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
