Ware Academy’s Upper School students recently visited the Terracotta Army: Legacy of the First Emperor of China exhibit at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond.
Ancient China and the first emperor are an area of study at Ware Academy incorporating language, history, math, science and the arts bringing to life one of the world’s oldest civilizations, reported academic dean Dawn R. Fleet.
Students are tasked with understanding the importance of studying and respecting ancient cultures as they relate to the world today, said Fleet.
This experiential learning activity allowed Ware Upper School students to view this specific exhibit and the other galleries at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts that correlate with the school’s curriculum, she said…..
