Sheriffs’ Reports 4-18-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felonies

William Samuel Diller Jr., 28, of Weems was charged April 14 with probation violation on a felony offense.

Misdemeanors

A Kilmarnock man, 33, was charged April 8 with four counts of violating a protective order.

A Lancaster man, 43, was charged April 10 with contempt of court.

A Weems man, 61, was charged April 11 with assault and battery of a family member.

Activity report

April 8: Staff responded to the 500 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for a domestic disturbance, and to the 100 block of Harris Drive for a person with mental issues.

April 9: Staff responded to Goodluck Road for a reckless driver, to the 1400 block of Mosquito Point Road for obtaining money by false pretenses, to White Stone for a reckless driver, to the 2800 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a person with mental issues, to the 100 block of Little Bay Road for a trespasser, and to the 100 block of Landing Drive for a suicidal person.

April 10: Staff responded to the 400 block of Greentown Road for a domestic assault.

April 11: Staff responded to a walk-in report of a forgery of a check and larceny, to Black Stump Road for a suspicious person with a rifle, and to the 2800 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a possible suicidal person.

April 12: Staff responded to the 2800 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a suicidal person.

April 13: Staff responded to Crawfords Corner and Pinkardsville roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash with a tree, and to the 20900 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol.

April 14: Staff responded to the 500 block of South Main Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a domestic disturbance, to the 900 block of Christ Church Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash versus a tree with injuries, to the 600 block of Loblolly Road for trespassers, to the 3900 block of Black Stump Road for a fight in progress with injuries, and to River Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash versus a tree with a fatality.

Staff also conducted seven traffic stops, issued four summonses, assisted eight motorists, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, processed three mental health orders, logged three inmate transports, received 13 E911 hang-up calls and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The White Stone and Kilmarnock volunteer fire departments responded to a possible structure fire on Windmill Point Road and to a traffic crash with injuries on Christ Church Road.

The Kilmarnock VFD also responded to a fire/smoke alarm on North Main Street.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash at Crawfords Corner and Pinkardsville roads, a traffic crash with fatality on River Road and a transformer fire at Callis Road and Keith Lane.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Darius Darnell Cutler, 25, of Baltimore, Md., was charged April 10 with a warrant of extradition from the State of Maryland for attempted first degree murder, use of a firearm in a violent crime, loaded hand gun on his person. He also was charged with first degree assault and second degree assault.

Carl Timothy Rich, 30, of Heathsville was charged April 12 with possession of a firearm by a felon and carrying a concealed weapon.

Misdemeanors

A Callao man, 49, was charged April 10 with a warrant of extradition from the State of Maryland for fleeing justice on a failure to appear charge in their state.

A Heathsville man, 29, was charged April 11 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Reedville woman, 25, was charged April 14 with assault and battery and damaging property at the Buoy.
