About an inch of snow that fell Saturday night in the lower Northern Neck was washed away by rain on Sunday. That rain turned back into sleet and snow Sunday night and dumped another two inches of snow in the Weems, Irvington and White Stone areas. Although less heavy than expected, the snowfall coated the foliage lining on this East Church street fence with a thick layer of icy white that froze overnight and remained in place Monday morning.
